1488-06-17:Witness for Plaintiff in Alice Billingham  c.  John (or Thomas) Wellis
Testifies that about June 1486 he and his sister-in-law (Beatrice Thomson), Alice Billingham, and John/Thomas Wellis were drinking in the inn at the sign of the Bells in Warwick Lane, when Beatrice Thomson told him Wellis and Billingham were to be married and asked Thomson to come to the solemnization. Testifies that there were rumours in the parish that Wellis would marry another woman and that Alice had objected when banns were issued.
