1488-11-19: John Hill, Response of Plaintiff
Responds that before his marriage with Elizabeth Leg was contracted and solemnized, Leg had contracted with Nicholas Sager, and as a result he seeks to divorce Leg and claims that the marriage between Leg and Sager should be enforced; names proctors.

1488-11-25: John Hunt, Witness for Plaintiff
Testifies that on 23 February 1466 he witnessed in the hall of the house of John Lepper a present contract between Elizabeth Leg and Nicholas Sager, after which Sager immediately gave her a ring.

1488-11-25: William White, Witness for Plaintiff
Agrees with previous witness, John Hunt, although he remembers a different location in the house and cannot remember one of the witnesses Hunt had named.

1488-12-04: Roger Wright, Witness for Defendant
Testifies that he was present for both of John Hill`s solemnizations, the first about 2 February 1469 or 1470 with Elizabeth Leg and the second in 1484 with Emma Wright. Testifies that Hill and Leg lived together as spouses for more than a year and that he believes they had a child together. Testifies that Hill and Wright have lived together since the solemnization four years ago.

1488-12-04: Richard Law, Witness for Defendant
Testifies that he was present when banns were issued between John Hill and Elizabeth Leg about 1469 or 1470. Testifies that he cannot remember whether or not he was present at the solemnization, but that Hill and Leg lived together as spouses in the parish for five or six years and had two or three children together, one for whom he later stood in as godfather. Agrees with previous witness, Roger Wright.
