Testifies that he heard that Joan objected to the second reading of banns at her father`s instigation.

Testifies that about 6-20 January 1489 he heard Joan Corney and Robert Philipson discuss marriage, with Philipson stating he intended to marry Corney. Testifies that Corney told him she received gifts from Philipson, and that he witnessed Philipson refuse Corney`s offerings. Testifies that Corney and Philipson are reputed in the town of Rayleigh and other places to be betrothed to one another.
