Testifies that she witnessed a future contract between Margaret Isot and Thomas Wulley, early November 1471. Agrees with previous witness, Margaret Baron, except that she does not recall John Calton saying to Wulley that it was not his parents` will that he marry Isot. Testifies to rumours regarding Isot`s marriage to John Heth, and that she believed that Wulley had died.
1489-03-04: John Calton, Witness for Plaintiff
Testifies that in November 1472 Thomas Wulley`s father approached him, as the headborough (constable) of St. John`s Street, saying that he suspected that his son and Margaret Isot were fornicating. Testifies that their neighbours, too, had for months suspected they were fornicating. Testifies that he caught Wulley and Isot getting undressed in John Cracow`s house, and that when he threatened to take them to prison, they told him that they wanted to wed, and they exchanged future consent before him and the others present.
